Born and raised in Seattle, Steve Smith got his show business feet wet at a very early age . By the time he was 9 he had been in a movie and was a regular on local television. Not sure if he was getting all this work because he was funny or just funny looking he continued his acting throughout college. Steve attended The Evergreen State College in Washington. A liberal arts school where he majored in theater. This college was so liberal they didn't give grades, just evaluations. Still, to this day, Steve Smith has no idea what his grade point was. It was in college, that he caught the comedy bug.
After touring the Northwest and Canada for a few years Steve Smith decided (Okay asked) to leave Seattle for the bright lights of Los Angeles. Plus, if you stay to long in Seattle you either start to grow roots or play grunge. Less then a year in Los Angeles Steve was tragically killed. First by Freddy Kruger in the movie Nightmare On Elm Street 2. Then he got a lead role in the movie Slaughterhouse Rock. All the while compiling over 40 television appearances as a standup comic . It only was a matter of time before he needed to branch out even further as a performer.
Steve Smith started the critically acclaimed improvisational group The Bargain basement Players (They later changed their name to "An Unpleasant Smell") which played for three years at the Santa Monica Improv . He also had a starring role in the movie "Nice Guys" most recent standup comedy journeys have taken him around world. From Honduras to Japan to Cuba to Korea to The Edinburgh Comedy Festival in Scotland.
You might know John from appearances on Friends, Mad About You, ER, King of Queens, NYPD Blue or Everybody Loves Raymond, but one thing's for sure - John C. McDonnell is good clean fun for Baby Boomers and their parents!
I’ve become a headliner in all major U.S. Clubs and over 200 colleges. I’ve also traveled to 32 different countries, including Iraq in December 2003 entertaining our military troops with the USO. In addition, I’ve had the pleasure of performing for numerous associations and Fortune 500 companies including Toyota, 3M and Buick.
I have also done several different shows for Comedy Central,The King Of Queens, Chelsea Lately. In addition, I have starred in independent films and opened for such stars as Tim Allen, Damon Wayons, Ellen Degeneres and Drew Carey. Working with these comics inspired me to work toward developing a sitcom based on my stand-up comedy. Over the past three years, I have spent two years working with ABC and Touchstone (Disney), and most recently, a year working with UPN and Paramount, to create a show that is eerily similar to my own life-the story of a Milwaukee guy who challenges status quo and finds his own way.

Kenny started his career in show business as a folk-singer in the mid-sixties. It was within this atmosphere that he developed his heightened sense of audience rapport and interplay. Kenny found that his quick wit and country charm were magic ingredients that could turn any audience into a group of friends. His act blossomed into a professional presentation of comedy, music and FUN! Kenny sang, played guitar and banjo, and shared many of his real life zany characters with his audience: the zaniest being, himself.
Kenny is a natural showman and feels more at home on stage than anywhere else. He has never had a bad review. Again and again the critics have agreed on Kenny’s unique talents and his magnetic personality. They always comment on his gentle, confident stage presence and his seemingly inexhaustible flow of original comedy material. More important to Kenny is the response he receives from the people that come to see him work. They give him applause, standing ovations, and much more.
